A little bit of this and a little bit of that

Ava has been SICK SICK SICK the last week. Notice the pacifier. Note that she has not used a pacifier since she was 13 months old...she has been feeling THAT bad. My mom suggested that we offer it to her for comfort while she is sick and it has helped. First of all she has 4 molars coming in at the same time...ouch. My entire body hurts thinking about it...second she has Roseola. A virus that starts with a fever, irritability, fatigue, decreased appetite and just feeling miserable. The fever eventually goes away after a 3 days but then a full body rash appears....FUN. The fatigue, irritability continues and now along with a itchy rash. Hello Benadryl. She did not eat for 3 days or drink for 2...she completely refused. We have been to the ER one, the Dr. office twice in the past two weeks. I am VERY HAPPY to say that today she is drinking adequate fluids and is eating ....HALLELUJAH! Even though she has regained her appetite, she is still fatigued and ill from the virus. The rash will remain up to 10 days. Bless her sweet little heart...love her so much.
We put our christmas tree up this week! The picture does not show it's true glory! I love the early mornings and the evenings when I can have it lit and curl up on the couch with a cup of spice tea! This is truly my favorite time of year. So blessed.

15 month update

It's been a long time since I've done an update on Ava! This little girl has blossomed over the last few months!
Size: 27lb, 33inch long! 97% on all growth charts. I LOVE THAT SHE IS TALL, and has healthy thighs :) I could eat them UP!!

Sleep pattern: She sleeps very well, very routine, and ALL NIGHT. 12 HOURS. 7:30pm-7:30,sometimes 8:00am. :)

Food: She eats very well! She loves fruit (bananas, grapes, peaches, watermelon, apples, strawberries, blueberries, mango, applesauce), most veggies (corn, squash, peas, green beans, cucumbers, zucchini, carrots), baked chicken, sometimes beef, sometimes steak, turkey meat, bologna (like her papa), pasta, bread, cheese.
She is very independent and likes to feed herself and be a big girl. She can use a spoon quite well now. She has her own little bowl/plate set. (big sigh...she is growing up so fast)
She drinks 2% milk and water only, NO JUICE. The less sugar the better, AND juice does nothing for her nutritionally.

Talking: She is like a little sponge, so smart! Here are the words and phrases Ava has been saying and practicing:
mama
dada
nana
dog (followed by a "woof, woof" sound) soooo cute!
fish
bird
girl
cracker
cat
ball
what is it (sounds very jumbled together but so she's getting there)
thank you (sounds like" tink u")
Here you go
Awwwwww (she says this A LOT during the day giving hugs and kisses to me, dada, and her stuffed animals. She is so sweet)
Thats all I can think of right now...

Play:
She can point to her ear, nose, tongue, belly button, foot.

She loves puzzles and can point out the animals on the puzzles and place the puzzle piece back in its spot.

LOVES BOOKS. She loves to point out every thing on the pages that she can identify (bird, dog, flower, sun, moon, cat, etc.
Her favorite book at bedtime is still Goodnight Moon.

She loves her tricycle, megablocks and wagon, strolling her babystroller, play horses(she even makes a horse sound!), melissa and Doug hammer toys, playing in the pool, playing chase, "tickle time", our daily bike ride, music and dance time, playing Puppets, Playing Peek-a-boo, Her morning "tv cartoon time" she loves jack and the music box show, toot and puddle, sesame street. This child has so many toys, she loves playing with them all.... Loves being outside, loves animals. And LOVES to swing!!!!
She loves to play ball! Kick a soccer ball, or throw a ball....it's in her genes :) I know she is only 15 months but she has got talent. She watches mom kick the soccer ball around and now she does it all the time. I will enroll her at soccer city with the "little kicks" when she turns 2!!! FUN!

This is a brief update of our little Ava! I can still remember the day she was born or even the day we found out we were expecting! We feel so complete and can't imagine a day without her. My heart melts everyday with overwhelming love. She is so sweet, sometimes sassy and even the tough days when the "toddler 2's" are creeping out of her, I love her even more and am more patient and thank God for giving Bo and I a miracle.

It's been awhile since I have posted! Between moving to Tulsa, starting a new job, adjusting into our new house, Ava teething AND WALKING, we have been busy busy busy. AND EXHAUSTED. We are loving it here! Tulsa is such a nice place to live so it's been an easy transition. Here are just a few pictures from the last few days! Ava has grown so much in the past few months! I'll post an update soon.

A few updates: Ava can now wave "Hi" (soooo cute), she officially has her first tooth on the bottom row, she is standing and cruising, she is finger feeding herself quite well now and is pretty much eating table foods (all veggies, all fruits, all pureed meats...Everything...she is a good eater!) It still has to be soft for her to "gum" it since she is only sporting one little tooth. She is starting to want less and less of her formula. She has cut back a few oz and now only drinks about a 6oz bottle with meals three times a day. We started her on water a few weeks ago and she really likes it, HOORAY! She still won't take a sippy cup. She is starting to not want her pacifier anymore....BIG HOORAY! My darling husband has taught her how to fake cough. She thinks it's hilarious. She is REALLY GOOD at the peek a boo game! She loves to play it when you put her down for a nap or for bedtime and she will play peek a boo with her blanket for a few min with you. It's the cutest! She loves music, LOVES it. Her favorite cd is still Jewel's lullaby BUT this is funny her favorite music video is Lady Gaga and Beyonce "Telephone". She will stop everything she is doing and watch that video from beginning to end without a blink of an eye. So funny. She is obsessed with shoes! All shoes. I think we might have a problem when she gets older :) She loves wind chimes. She has one in her room that she has to play with every night before she goes to bed. I will say this again...I CAN'T BELIEVE MY BABY IS GOING BE ONE MAY 27th!!!
